Description
"Papillon"
Dickerson 41 CC
Papillon is ketch-rigged, center cockpit with a full isinglass enclosure making for comfortable passages. Two private berths, fore and aft, allow for spacious living with privacy. Her full cut-away keel 4.9 ft draft and an ICW friendly 50’ mast allow for maximum flexibility in anchorages and coastal cruising. She was built on Chesapeake Bay and is considered by many to be the ultimate in cruising designs.
Papillon is set up for an off-the-grid cruising lifestyle with her systems so balanced she can sit on anchor for months at a time. Commissioned and built by the owner of Dickerson Boat Builders himself after he sailed to Jamaica on a sister ship. Her full, cut-away keep and heavy displacement allows her to be comfortably taken offshore or cruised down the Intracoastal Waterway.
She has been a coastal and Island cruiser for the past 32 years, making over 25 passages to the Bahamas and northern Atlantic, a solid yacht that will serve her new owners well for many years to come.
“Papillon" was purchased as a home and a long-distance stable cruiser, and she has provided both. We have cruised her from Baltimore, through the Bahamas, and as far south as the Dominican Republic. She is loved and well cared for and currently docked in St. Augustine ready for her next adventure, north or south. It is our hope to find someone looking for what she is, a comfortable home and a fine vessel that will take you anywhere you want to go.”-current owners
